MAYA KARDUM

Maya is a photographer with background in photojournalism. She became involved with photography during the Croatian/Serbian war in 1991, while working as a fixer, and later as a news producer, for Italian television network RAI.

Maya later received a formal education in media and photography from the North London College and the London College of Printing. She continued to produce reportage on human right issues as freelance for 15 years for various publications.

Maya has had two solo exhibitions in London and has also produced numerous travel and life style pieces for British and Italian magazines -- both countries where she was based for some years. Maya has worked as a staff photographer for the Financial Times newspaper and the Croatian Vecernji List.

More recently, Maya worked an eight-year period at London's Victoria and Albert Museum, photographing events, workshops, and conferences, and taking portraits of contemporary artists.

For the past three years, Maya has been travelling the world with her family, and continues to work as a freelance photographer.
